Welcome to the GE 2016 - 2017 Robotics Club
After a very successful first year, Georgetown Elementary's Robotics Club heads into an extremely ambitious and exciting second year. In addition to holding year-round sessions where 3rd , 4th and 5th grade students will be introduced and/or extend their experience and expertise with robotics, the GE Robotic Club will be hosting a Vex IQ Robotics Tournament in February, with the winner qualifying for the National Tournament which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky in April. The after school program will start in late September and all 3-5 grade students are encouraged to apply, we will accommodate as many students as possible throughout the year. Sessions will typically run 8 weeks, with selected tournament teams meeting from September through the "Superbot Saturday" tournament in February.
Teams will be comprised of 4-6 students, all of whom will participate the engineering of their robotics project. Responsibilities will include planning, constructing, programming, operating, and journaling their project.

Teams will be using Vex IQ Robotics kits to complete this years project which is titled, "Crossover." You can view an overview of the project on the video below.
